Pelican SabreLite 2010 Recoil LED Flashlight with Photoluminescent Shroud

Pelican SabreLite 2010 Recoil LED Flashlight with Photoluminescent Shroud Product Description :
Same features as the SabreLite 2010 Recoil LED but outfitted with a lens ring that emits a bright glow in the dark. The new generation photoluminescent material in the plastic absorbs the energy from any light source - fluorescent lights, the sun, or even the flashlight's own beam. No more fumbling in the dark for your flashlight.Designed to eliminate fumbling around when seeking a flashlight in the dark, this 8.11-inch flashlight features a lens shroud that emits a bright glow when the lights are out or the sun has set. The new-generation photoluminescent material in the shroud's plastic absorbs energy from any light source: fluorescent lights, the sun, and even the flashlight's own beam.

The flashlight also features Pelican's Recoil LED technology that produces a focused rectangular white beam bright as an incandescent light, which cuts through thick smoke, fog, and dust. Recoil technology improves on convention LED flashlights, which have relatively weak unfocused beams, by aiming a one-watt LED backward into the reflector so that 100 percent of light is reflected forward. Pelican says a Recoil LED light is 10 times brighter at 30 feet than multi-array LED lights and provides 50 percent longer battery life. The flashlight's rugged ABS-resin body resists chemicals, corrosion, and extreme temperatures and is faceted for secure gripping.

The flashlight is submersible to 500 feet thanks to an o-ring seal and the twist on/off lens shroud that eliminates leaky switches and comes with a polarity battery-guard tray that safeguards against dangerous "outgassing" of hydrogen from an accidentally reversed battery. Powered by three C alkaline batteries (not included) with a burn time of 50 hours, the flashlight weighs 13.4 ounces with batteries. A one-way "umbrella" valve allows gases to vent from the body to prevent excessive pressure buildup while blocking water entry when the flashlight is submerged. A lanyard on the end secures the flashlight to wrist, a spring-loaded clip holds it securely it on a belt, and a ring allows clipping to a lanyard (not included).

About Pelican Products
Dave Parker, president of Pelican Products, has been an avid scuba diver since age 11. During his early diving years, he repeatedly discovered that something he needed to make a dive complete was simply not available. It dawned on him that if he needed that piece of gear other divers did, too. In 1976, he began the company with his wife and co-founder Arline, an airline stewardess, while he continued his advertising and industrial-design business. From that inception as a small garage operation, Pelican has blossomed into an international marketing and manufacturing firm.
